ENTRY: All rooms in Avanti Resort are eligible to participate in the Door Decoration Contest. Each entry must have a Room Point of Contact who coordinates the entry and participation with the IKC.
Any krewe can enter more than one room, but the Team Leader must be different for each room.
No Doubles, i.e., krewes cannot decorate two adjoining doors or rooms and count them as one entry.
The winner gets bragging rights along with the following:
1st Place Overall Best: $100 Gift Certificate, bragging rights and waived IKC dues for 2023
The Funniest: $50 Gift Certificate along with bragging rights.
Most Creative: $50 Gift Certificate along with bragging rights.
Participants must adhere to the following rules to be eligible to win:
Teams may begin decorating as soon as they check-in to the room on Friday, July 15th
All decorating must be completed by 6:00 pm on Saturday, July 16th. No exceptions.
Decorations must be appropriate and kept to community standards, remembering that there are children on the property (i.e., No sex toys or other adult-only displays).
Your display may not do any damage to the room:
Use only clear tape or mounting putty to attach decorations.
Do not glue anything to the door or wall.
Do not use any permanent marker or other persistent chemical on the hotel’s structures.
Do not use tacks or push pins.
All decorations must be removed by check-out time, 11AM, Sunday July 17th.
CRITERIA: Doors will be evaluated on the following three criteria:
1. Visual impact
2. Creativity
3. Craftsmanship
JUDGING:
Volunteer judges will be randomly selected.
Judging will take place at 7:00PM on Saturday July 16th.
Announcement of the winners and presentation of the awards will be at the Saturday Night Pool Party.
