The Ultimate Holiday Door Decorating Contest

Bring the sparkle, the creativity, and just a little mischief—because this isn’t your average holiday décor… this is Carnival.

Transform your door into a festive, show-stopping masterpiece that represents your Krewe, your style, and your holiday spirit.

• Decorating may begin on Friday
  
• All doors must be completed by 2:45 PM on Saturday
  
• Judging begins promptly at 3:00 PM on Saturday
  

The Rules:

• Krewes can enter more than one door, but the Team Leader must be different for each door.
• No double doors are permitted. Krewes cannot decorate two adjourning doors and count them as one entry.
• All decorating must be completed by 2:45pm on Saturday, July 11th.  No exceptions.
• All decorations can follow either the Carnivale theme, Christmas or their Krewe theme.
• Decorations must be appropriate and kept to community standards, remembering that there may be children on the property and doors are visible to the public. 
• Your display may not leave damage to any hotel surfaces:
• • Use only clear tape or mounting putty to attach decorations.
  • Do not use glue on any hotel surface.
  • Do not use any permanent marker or other persistent chemical on any hotel surface.
  • Decorations may not extend more than halfway beween your door and the door of the next room.
• All decorations must be removed by check-out time on Sunday, Sept. 14th.

Judging Criteria:  Bonus points for matching outfits, props, and attitude. 

Judging:

• Judges will be randomly selected
• Participants may not judge the contest

• Judging will take place at 3pm on Saturday, July 11^th.

The winner gets bragging rights along with the following:

• 1st Place: TBA
• 2nd Place: TBA
• 3rd Place:  TBA

 Jingle & Mingle (pub crawl)

The Rules:

• Each Krewe may enter one signature drink per room.
• Drinks must be prepared and ready for sampling during designated crawl hours.
• Krewe members are responsible for serving and managing their station.
• Keep it festive, fun, and on theme—Christmas in July with a Carnival twist.
• Display your drink name clearly—bonus points for creativity and presentation.
• Please drink responsibly and be respectful of all participants and spaces.

Judging:

Guests will travel room to room sampling each Krewe’s signature drink and casting their votes.

Voting will be based on:

• Taste
• Creativity (name + concept)
• Presentation
• Overall Experience
